Vandana

Vandana is a temple dance of invocation. The sacred deities are invoked in temples with mantra (chants) and the sound of shankh (conch) Ghanti (bells) and Ghanta (gongs). The dancing devotee also invokes the presence and manifestation of the sacred ones, through mudra and hastak-hand gestures, and then play the deity through natya, combining acting and dancing.
