World Hindi Day is a good initiative where the Part-Time Indians and their Diaspora clamor to be 150% Indian and remember the seemingly now archaic Hindi or Hindustani Language. PM Modi recently used the Indo-Identity well for Political mileage.
But we are being not so slowly but surely being RE-COLONIZED by Western Ideals. Lip Plumpers, Snathed Chins, Skin Lightening Creams which all re-inforce White Supremacy.
Case in point, 21 yrs ago (2000) at secondary school, a young lady by the name of Kailash (Real Name Kailashpati) who now uses the more Western Appropriate name Karla. The Kailashpati plant is sacred plant with many medicinal purposes it should have been an honour to be named after such a plant but the reverse is true.
Hitler would be happy!
Back to World Hindi Day 2021; The Hindi/Hindustani language is heading the route of the Navajo language. For those who utter “Navajo! What is that!” I rest my case.
In the next 50yrs the more “hip” English language will completely replace the Hindi/Hindustani language and begs the question, What legacy are we leaving for our children? (See Thumbnail).
