Yung Kymani’s 2026 soca “Link Up” ,sits in that sweet spot of Mid- Groovy Soca where the pace is mellow enough to feel, but lively enough to move. On the surface, it’s about linking up in the Carnival sense ;people catching a vibe, bussing a lime, chipping down the road, and soaking up the culture. But underneath that, the song is really about how Soca itself is a link-up.

You hear little touches of Kaiso in the melody and phrasing, the old-school Calypso call-and-answer that pulls the crowd in, the dub weight sitting in the low end, and the live rhythm section pushing everything forward. Nothing is fighting for space, it’s all meeting in the middle and moving together.

So when “Link Up” says to link up, it’s not just talking about people. It’s talking about the music too and all the different influences that make Soca what it is, quietly gathering in one groove. The end result is a feel-good track that respects where the music came from while still sounding fresh and youthful.
