The tradition continues.
The First Felicity Ramleela and Cultural Group held its 105th annual Ramleela celebrations. The Hindu epic which re-enacts the event of the Ramayana is usually portrayed over 11 nights. This year due to COVID-19 restrictions, the play was condensed into a one night event. Masks were worn by the participants and spectators drove onto the Green Park Rec Ground in Felicity and observed the celebrations from their vehicles.
The burning of Ravana as seen in the video depicts Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana in the Ramayana and the representation of good conquering evil.
