6 Caribbean Legends to be honored at the show
Grand Final to be held at the Newly Renovated Skinner Park
Southex is hoping to get the prize structure back to what it was ‘Pre-Covid’, and is hoping to offer close to $1M in prize money with a first prize of $500K, 2nd prize – 100K, 3rd prize – 75K and $35K for all other finalists. This will be the biggest prize offering for this competition in three years
Our 2023 event will feature the top entertainers from the Caribbean in a special feature ‘Legends and Icons’ where 6 special artistes from the Caribbean region will be honoured. The segment will also feature performances from some of the icons of the Indo- Caribbean music industry.
The competition will also crown our 2023 Chutney Soca Monarch and also the 2023 Queen of Chutney Soca and will include contestants from T&T, USA, Canada, Surinam, Guyana, UK and Holland.
The 2023 edition of the annual Chutney Soca Monarch will be the biggest production ever undertaken over the 28 year history of the event since 1996.
In keeping with the theme of the 2023 Carnival Season – ‘The Mother of all Carnivals’, Southex will produce ‘The Mother of all Chutney Soca Monarch shows’. Our stage will also feature the biggest exposition of ‘Indo-Caribbean’ culture.
Chutney Soca Monarch or ‘CSM’ as it is now affectionately called, remains the most important Indo-Caribbean event in the world highlighting our Caribbean culture in a unique manner.
Our 2023 event will feature the top entertainers from the Caribbean in a special feature ‘Legends and Icons’ where 6 of our Caribbean legends from the Caribbean region will be honored.

The show will be hosted by RUMSHOP CHRONICLES from Toronto Canada, with support from BIG RICH and Leeann Dass of ‘Nah’ fame.

The Grand Final will be held on Saturday 4th February at the newly renovated Skinner Park in San Fernando and the semi final will be hosted at Screamers in Debe, South Trinidad on Saturday 14th January.
