Ricardo Melville better known as Daddy Chinee won the 2023 Chutneymusic.com Raja title with his hit song “We are One”. This made it the third straight year Daddy Chinee has won the title and this completed a hat-trick of Chutneymusic.com Raja Titles.
Competition Organiser, Jason “DJ Floops” Sookram referred to the “We are One” song as the “Embodiment of Chutney Soca”. The song is original, speaks about unity and contains hindustani references throughout. The rhythm is easily identifiable as chutney as it was produced by Chutney Purist, Rishi Gayadeen of RG Band as part of the Chutney Soca Invasion 2.0.
