PRESS RELEASE:
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport on Friday, 16th April,2021 hosted the prize-giving ceremony for the 2021 National Song Competitions at the National Culture Centre.
This year the competitions were held in four areas, namely, Steel Band, Calypso (Junior and Senior), Soca (Junior and Senior) and Chutney. It was the first time that the competitions were held virtually as part of the Ministry’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe, Be Entertained, We are One Guyana” Series and the success of the events were resounding.
The performances by the participants were impressive, the production was spectacular and the viewership – both online and over the networks – was huge. The Ministry would like to congratulate all of the participants and thank the public for its support.
